Brian Tierney is the author of Rise and Float (Milkweed Editions, 2022) which won the 2020–2021 Jake Adam York Prize and was a finalist for the 2020 National Poetry Series. His poems have appeared in The Paris Review, The Kenyon Review, AGNI, New England Review, and other publications. A former Wallace Stegner Fellow in poetry at Stanford University, and winner of the 2018 George Bogin Memorial Award from The Poetry Society of America, he lives in Oakland, California, where he teaches poetry.
