Brooklyn Copeland

Brooklyn Copeland was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is the author of the full-length poetry collection Siphon, Harbor (2012), as well as numerous chapbooks, including Salt Ballads (2012), Laked, Fielded, Blanked (2011), Longing/Belonging (2009), and The Milk for Free (2008). Copeland’s work, in which she often layers images, sound, and narrative in short, fragmented lines, has drawn comparisons to that of Lorine Niedecker, William Carlos Williams, and H.D. The recipient of a Ruth Lilly Fellowship, Copeland is also the editor of TAIGA, a journal of music, poetry, and translation. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband and daughters.
