Bryan Byrdlong

Bryan Byrdlong grew up in Chicago. He earned a BA from Vanderbilt University and an MFA in creative writing from University of Michigan. His poetry has appeared in many journals, including Kenyon Review, Apogee Journal, Pleiades Magazine, Nashville Review, and Heavy Feather Review.
Byrdlong won Boulevard Magazine’s Poetry Contest for Emerging Poets and the Michael R. Gutterman-Hopwood Award from the University of Michigan, and he received a Gregory Djanikian Scholarship from the Adroit Journal in 2020. In 2021, Byrdlong received a Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation.
Byrdlong lives in Los Angeles.
