David Budbill

David Budbill was the author of eight books of poetry, including While We've Still Got Feet (2006), Happy Life (2011), and the posthumous poetry collection Tumbling Toward the End (Copper Canyon Press, 2017). He also wrote eight plays, as well as young adult fiction, a children’s book, speeches, essays, and reviews. Past honors include fellowships from the NEA and Guggenheim Foundation, an honorary degree from New England College, and the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award for Fiction. He lived in the mountains of northern Vermont with his wife and daughter. His papers are held at the University of Vermont.
