DJ Savarese
David James “DJ” Savarese is an artful activist, a multi-genre writer, and a public scholar who teaches poetry writing with Listen2US and the LYNX Project in Chicago. His creative publications include Studies in Brotherly Love (PromptPress, 2021); A Doorknob for the Eye (Unrestricted Editions, 2017); the Pushcart Prize–nominated “Passive Plants,” also a notable essay in Best American Essays (Mariner Books, 2018); and the Peabody Award–winning, Emmy-nominated documentary Deej (2017), which he coproduced and narrated.
