Hermana Ramarui

Hermana Ramarui is from Belau (Palau) in Micronesia and is the author of The Palauan Perspectives (1984). She earned a BA in English from the University of Guam. She worked for more than two decades in Palau’s Ministry of Education, where she was involved in Palauan studies curriculum development and taught English, Palauan, and government. Ramarui contributed monumental efforts to preserve Palauan language and culture and to create the Palauan Cultural Profile Curriculum and the Palauan Orthography, which are used in Palauan schools. A retired educator, she is currently working on a Palauan children’s reading series and a coloring book series.
