Kira Alexis Tucker (she/they) is a poet and artist from Memphis, Tennessee. She was a finalist for a 2024 Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowship. Their work, which centers on dreaming, haunted ecologies, and examining the landscapes of our collective unconscious, is published in Tupelo Quarterly, The Iowa Review, Jazz & Culture, The Spectacle, and elsewhere.

The recipient of fellowships and support from the Mellon Foundation, The Hurston/Wright Foundation, Tin House, The Furious Flower Poetry Center, and The Sewanee Writers’ Conference, Tucker earned both an MFA in creative writing and an MA in English from Northwestern University, where she is now a 2024-2045 artist in residence. Tucker lives in Chicago and is an associate agent with the Shipman Agency and a managing editor for TriQuarterly
