Mahealani Perez-Wendt
Mahealani Perez-Wendt is the author of the poetry collection Uluhaimalama (2007). She is of Hawaiian, Spanish, and Chinese ancestry, and she currently lives on the island of Maui, in Hawaii. In 1993, she received the Elliot Cades Award for Literature, and her work has been published in many literary journals and anthologies in Hawaii and the Pacific. Perez-Wendt has worked for many years as an administrator and is former executive director of the Native Hawaiian Legal Corporation, a nonprofit, public interest law firm that provides legal representation to indigenous Hawaiians.
