Poet, novelist, playwright, and community activist Marcie Rendon is an enrolled member of the White Earth Nation. She is the author of the novel Murder on the Red River (2017) and the children’s books Powwow Summer (1996) and Farmer’s Market: Families Working Together (2001). Her poetry has appeared in the St. Paul Almanac’s Impressions project. Rendon is the producer and creative director of Raving Native Theater, a grassroots theater company that has performed at the Minnesota Fringe Festival and community-based venues. In 2016, Rendon received the Loft’s Spoken Word Immersion Fellowship.
