Mike Doughty

Mike Doughty is an American singer-songwriter and the author of I Die Each Time I Hear the Sound: A Memoir (Hachette Books, 2020), Slanky: Poems and Songs (Catapult, 2012), and The Book of Drugs: A Memoir (Da Capo Press, 2012). Doughty created a rock opera called Revelation that was first staged in 2015. In 1992, he founded the band Soul Coughing; he has released numerous studio albums, live albums, and EPs as a music collaborator and a solo artist. Other music projects include Ghost of Vroom with longtime collaborator Andrew “Scrap” Livingston.
