Nicole Mauro
Nicole Mauro was born in San Mateo and grew up in Burlingame, California. She earned a BA in communication arts and an MAW in fiction writing from the University of San Francisco and an MFA in poetry from Mills College. She is the author of numerous chapbooks and two full-length collections of poetry: The Contortions (2009) and Tax Dollar Super-Sonnet, Featuring Sarah Palin as Poet (2014), a book comprised of text borrowed from presidential speeches, Sarah Palin’s autobiography, and the work of Emily Dickinson. Mauro is coeditor, with Marci Nelligan, of Intersection: Sidewalks and Public Space (2008). She is the founder of Black Radish Books and teaches at the University of San Francisco.
