Reina María Rodríguez

Born in Havana, Cuba, Reina María Rodríguez is recognized as a major poet and also as an advocate for non-governmental cultural spaces. Her rooftop home, informally known as la azotea de Reina, has served as a salon for the Cuban literary community for many years. English translations of her work include Violet Island and Other Poems (Green Integer 2004), La Detencion del Tiempo/Time’s Arrest (Factory School 2005), Other Letters to Milena (University of Alabama Press 2014), and The Winter Garden Photograph (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2019). She lives in Cuba.
