Sandra Simpson is the author of breath (2011), a collection of haiku. Her poetry appears in many anthologies and journals, including Poetry & Place Anthology 2015 and Haiku in English: The First Hundred Years (2013).

She is the South Pacific editor of the Red Moon anthologies, a collection of the best English-language haiku published each year, and the editor of the Haiku NewZ website. After working for a journalist for 40 years, she is now a publicist for the Tauranga Arts Festival and serves as secretary of the Katikati Haiku Pathway Committee.

She has received numerous awards for her haiku, including first place in the Free XpresSion Haiku Contest and the Royal Canal Haiku Contest, the Snapshot Press Haiku Calendar Competition, and the Single Island Press Haiku Contest.

She lives in Tauranga, New Zealand.
