Sonia Levitin
Sonia Levitin is the author of more than forty books for children, young adults, and adults and has been publishing since 1973. She has won numerous awards including the National Jewish Book Award, the Edgar Alan Poe Award, the German Catholic Bishop's Award, and the PEN Award. Ms. Levitin's books have been translated into five languages. Her books include When Kangaroo Goes To School (Scholastic, Northland/Rising Moon 2001), All The Cats In The World (Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, 1982), Who Owns The Moon (Parnassus, 1973), Boom Town (Orchard Books 1998), and The Man Who Kept His Heart In A Bucket (Dial, 1991; Scholastic Paperback, Puffin Paperback). Her young adult novel, The Return, which has won eight awards including the ALA/YASD Best Book for Young Adults, is presently in production as a musical, Return, with co-producers Michael Butler and Jolie Jones.
