Stuart Cooke

Stuart Cooke is an Australian poet, essayist, and translator. Cooke has published four collections of poetry, including The Grass Is Greener over Your Grave (Puncher & Wattmann, 2023) and Lyre (UWAP, 2019), as well as translations of Gianni Siccardi’s The Blackbird (Vagabond Press, 2018) and George Dyungayan’s Bulu Line: A West Kimberley Song Cycle (Puncher & Wattmann, 2014).

Cooke coedited Transcultural Ecocriticism: Global, Romantic and Decolonial Perspectives (Bloomsbury, 2021) and published a monograph about Australian and Chilean postcolonial poetics, Speaking the Earth’s Languages (Rodopi, 2013).

The recipient of many awards, grants, and residential fellowships, Cooke lives in Brisbane and is an associate professor of creative writing and literary studies at Griffith University.
