Ugochi Nwaogwugwu is a multidisciplinary creative. Her poems have been published in AStorm Between Fingers (Flipped Eye Publishing, 2007), Too Young, Too Loud, Too Different (Corsair Poetry, 2022), The Golden Shovel Anthology (The University of Arkansas Press, 2017), The Eternal Year of African People (Frontline Book Publishing, 2020), and Wherever I’m At: An Anthology of Chicago Poetry (The Chicago Literary Hall of Fame in partnership with After Hours Press and Third World Press, 2022). She has also written blogs and essays for publication, including “Trump’s Administration: The Nazification of a Nation,” published in Not Our President (Third World Press, 2017).

Nwaogwugwu is a member of her beloved poetry community in Chicago and a member of Malika’s Poetry Kitchen in London, England. She is the creator of a pan-African poetry form called Ike (pronounced EE-kay) that pays homage to her Igbo heritage of Nigeria.
