Wendy Willis is a poet, an essayist, and a lawyer. She earned a BA from Willamette University, a JD from Georgetown Law Center, and an MFA from the Rainier Writing Workshop at Pacific Lutheran University. She is the author of the poetry collection Blood Sisters of the Republic (2012), and her poems and essays have appeared widely. A former clerk to Chief Justice Wallace P. Carson Jr. of the Oregon Supreme Court, Willis currently directs the Kitchen Table Democracy and teaches at the Attic Institute. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband, the poet David Biespiel, and their children.
