Dale Going is author of the full-length poetry collections As/Of the Whole (1990), which won a San Francisco State University Poetry Chapbook Award, and The View They Arrange (1995), which was nominated for a Poets’ Prize. Her chapbooks include Or Less (1991), She Pushes with her Hands (1992), and Leaves from a Gradual (2001). Going has an ongoing collaboration with the artist Marie Carbone; selections from their poem and collage project Aerial Perception have been exhibited, with audio and musical accompaniment, in the show Unbound and Under Covers at the Berkeley Art Center.

Going is the founder of Em Press, which publishes fine letterpress editions of chapbooks, broadsides, and pamphlets by contemporary women poets. Going has written and performed for poets theater productions, curated exhibitions of artists’ books by poets, and written widely on book artists, poets, and visual artists. She also cofounded the literary zine Rooms. She has received numerous honors and awards for her work, including a California Arts Council Grant and fellowships from the Djerassi Resident Artists Program, and has presented her work at the Seattle Bumbershoot Festival.
