Diana Hamilton earned her BA from New York University and her PhD from Cornell University. She is the author of the collections God Was Right (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2018), The Awful Truth (Golias Books, 2017), and Okay, Okay (Truck Books, 2012); as well as four chapbooks, including Universe (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2015) and Break Up (Troll Thread, 2015). In a review of Universe, Ryo Yamaguchi says, “The theatrics of speech develop overtime through this interweaving of different lines of thought, through pauses, non-sequiturs, and interruptions. In this way, odd little things start to filter through and, eventually, accrete. … The effect of all of this is a fascinating enactment of the tensions between rationality and fervor.”

Hamilton’s writing has appeared in Bomb, Frieze, Art in America, The Brooklyn RailTwo Serious Ladies, and elsewhere. She is director of the writing center at Baruch College, CUNY.
