Lyudmyla Diadchenko

Lyudmyla Diadchenko was born on August 2, 1988, in the village of Shevchenkove, Ukraine. Diadchenko has published multiple poetry collections in Ukrainian, including Fee For Access (Green Dog, 2011), A Hen for the Turkish Man (Green Dog, 2017), and Kedem (Folio, 2021). In 2021, Diadchenko began working with American poet Padma Thornlyre to translate Magnetic Storms (No Reply Press, 2023) and other work.

Individual poems by Diadchenko have been published in Albania, Belgium, Chile, Croatia, Colombia, Georgia, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Turkey, and the United States. She has also appeared in literary festivals on four continents (Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America), and her poetry has been translated into thirteen languages, including Arabic, Azerbaijani, Bulgarian, Chinese, English, Italian, Spanish, and Turkish. In 2012, she was recognized by the Oles Honchar International Prize.

She earned her MA in Ukrainian Language, Literature and Literary Creation and her PhD in Literary Theory from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Her doctoral studies included work in mythopoetics, hermeneutics, and spatial studios. She has also served as the Vice President of the Ukrainian Writers’ Association.

Diadchenko lives in Kyiv.
