Nia Francisco
Nia Francisco is Tł‘ááshchí’í, born for the ‘Áshįįhi. Her maternal grandfather is Kinyaa’áanii and her paternal grandfather is Ta’neeszahnii. She has published two books of poetry, Blue Horses for Navajo Women (Greenfield Review Press, 1988) and Carried Away by the Black River (Yoo-Hoo Press, 1994). Navajo is her first spoken language, but English is her first written language. She lives and writes from the Navajo reservation.
